I appreciated the fellows that arrived to pick up and move my heavy Mason Hamlin baby grand which has been in my family for almost 90 years. They were very careful and delivered it up 18 plus stairs. I am pleased to have worked with the team that arrived. I did put in a request with the main office that we would need more than 2 or 3 at the delivery site. Unfortunately that communication failed and we were darn lucky to find 2 fellows in the neighborhood who generously jumped in to finish the delivery. In general all is 'grand'. Thank you very much.

Modern Piano Moving was there for me every step of the way and that is saying a lot. This was such a huge undertaking to relocate a grand piano (also a rare one) across country from the Southeastern US to the Pacific Northwest. There were many logistical matters involved and the staff was very compliant in meeting these demands as well as personable. The only suggestion I would offer at this stage is that they find another way to lift an instrument up on its third leg without using the pedal lyre as support; there are special devices made just for this. Although everything came through fine, it is always better to err on the safer side. PS I do appreciate that the owner of the company was on location when the piano was first picked up.

For your instrument to continue playing well and looking grand, it is crucial to protect it from the negative impacts of humidity. Humidity levels that are too high or too low or those that keep fluctuating, can cause a lot of damage to your piano. Read More
Pianos are bulky and heavy instruments and moving them around isn’t a task you should take upon yourself as you can risk damaging their various parts as well as injuring yourself in the process. Pianos possess many fragile components and when moving or transporting them, these instruments need to be handled delicately yet sturdily so that they remain intact. Piano movers know from experience how to manage and handle transporting pianos but as a piano owner, there are a few ways you can help them out as well. Read More
A piano is a large and solid instrument, but it is also very delicate and fragile and requires proper maintenance and care to remain in a pristine condition. Just the way harsh winters and dry seasons can wreak havoc on their various components, very hot and humid weather conditions can also damage it in several ways if not properly taken care of.
