i had expected that Hurricane Helena would have delayed my delivery date but it was only 1 day difference from the schedule and the delivery driver kept me informed as to when and what time he would be arriving and he was right on time. The guys had it off the truck and in my home all set up within minutes and with utmost care!

I had a long distance move from Cleveland, OH to Columbus, GA with two Steinway grands. After researching several nationwide movers, Modern Piano Moving proved to be the cheapest one. However, just because they were inexpensive didn’t mean anything was sacrificed for service. The pianos were packed very carefully, kept safe, and delivered with utmost professionalism. Modern Piano Movers sent Lou and Manny to pick up my grandmother’s 100+ year old Steinway grand from my home in northern VA for a long distance move to TX. Both Lou and Manny did an exceptional job. Modern Piano Moving recently moved my 110+ year old baby grand player/reproducer piano from South Carolina to Colorado and had to take it downstairs in the new home. It is an extremely heavy piano due to the player mechanism and they did an outstanding job in both the pick up and delivery.

When our elderly parents recently relocated from the North Georgia mountains to Florida, they were unable to take their baby grand piano with them and (some of) their adult children were tasked with finding a new home for it. Sadly these days, it can be very difficult to find someone willing to take a piano for free, let alone purchase and move it. Fortunately, last year my stepdaughter and her husband moved into a large house in Maryland, just outside of Washington D.C., and were looking for a baby grand piano for their formal living room. Modern Piano Moving did a fantastic job, both picking up the piano in Georgia and delivering it to Maryland. On both ends of the process, the movers were highly professional, on time, courteous, safe, and efficient. Administratively, both Margie in the sales office and Jamie in dispatch kept us informed of the schedule and of the details they needed to ensure a smooth process. Exceeded expectations! This was a big deal handing over a beloved instrument to strangers to deliver to my son 3 states away. But Modern Piano was very responsive all the way from quoting to delivery and I would use them again in a heartbeat. When we were in the process of moving everything out of my parents home after it was sold I contacted Modern Piano Moving to get my mom’s baby grand piano from their home in Houston, TX to our home located in Salt Lake City, UT back in 2021. A tricky move of an heirloom Steinway from Tulsa to San Francisco. Several transfers, steps and corners. Arrived within the designated time frame without a scratch and the crew was totally professional and accommodating. I contacted Modern Piano Moving to move my piano from Virginia to Connecticut. Everyone that I talked to over the course of time from picking up the piano in April to our delivery in July was very helpful. When they picked up the piano they wrapped it with blankets and loaded the piano and bench on their truck very carefully. When they delivered the piano, they gave me time to vacuum the back before they placed it against the wall. They also offered to put new felt pads on the bench. This company has great people working the phones and transporting your piano.

We inherited the piano quite unexpected and needed a quick move, MP picked up piano 3 days after we contracted them then stored it for a month as we were in the process of laying new floors in our home. Professional from beginning to end! The crew who picked up the piano was prompt and courteous. I regarded it as a work of art to see how they carefully disassembled the instrument and made sure it was completely wrapped and covered before carrying it down a flight of 13 stairs.

We understood that in our contract that if a driver misses a pick-up date we wait another month, but we weren’t notified right away so it was a bit stressful not to have our piano for another month beyond expected.

Excellent customer service! Loved being able to speak with a live person every time we called. Emails were promptly and clearly answered. Our timeline changed a few times due to sale of our house in Oregon and due to house building delays in Texas, but Modern piano accommodated all our changes in a great way. The piano movers, Danny Joe and Thane, were professional from start to finish. Within thirty minutes they had wrapped the piano bench, the music stand, and wrapped the piano and lifted it onto a dolly. They rolled all of this out of the apartment, down the hallway onto the elevator, down 10 floors to the basement, down the hallway through three sets of double doors to the awaiting box truck liftgate. The piano was secured for the move to Atlanta and delivered the next day. Having moved our piano numerous times over the years I would highly recommend letting the pros do it and particularly Modern Piano for a worry-free pickup and delivery.

Throughout the process they exceeded my expectations and made my cross country move much easier. They movers took exceptional care with my piano in both states. They moved my grand piano to a second floor condo up a curved staircase with no problem. The movers were very careful with both my piano and my home. I highly recommend them.

Excellent individualized service from the time I submitted my first request for a quote to move our piano cross country, from Ohio to Oregon. It was really helpful to have a specific person to contact with questions and to ask for updates. Kim was great, she always responded quickly. The crews who came to our house and delivered the piano on the other end were excellent. They took great care in packing and moving, and then unpacking the piano at the other end. We were nervous about this move, but Modern Piano Moving was great. We all appreciated the extra care taken by the on-site crews as this move occurred during the pandemic.

I had a very valuable Steinway M grand piano moved from Kalispell, Mt. to my home in Mechanicsburg, PA.,
roughly 2400 miles.
The piano arrived in great shape and the delivery persons were most gracious and moved another grand piano to another room to make room for the Steinway.
